B-57 Blackbirds at Sembach, Sembach AB Germany

Sembach 1: Year 1956. Showing of one of the first B-57 Blackbirds at Sembach. Eighth person from left facing camera is Col. Clarence C. Ailes, Wing Executive Officer. Tenth from left is Lt Col. Stanley W. Irons, Wing director of operations. Eleventh from the left facing right with cigar is Col. Hervey H. Whitfield, Base Commander. I can still smell that cigar.

Sembach 2: Circa 1956: "LESTERBERRY", mascot of the 302 Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, pausing before taking his RF-80 jet up for a routine training mission.
